Istanbul Airport is one of the largest airports in the world, and the walk from your gate to the arrivals hall alone can take fifteen minutes. This guide covers what actually happens between landing and reaching your hotel.
How long is the drive?
To the old city (Sultanahmet, Fatih, Eminönü) allow 45 to 75 minutes. To Taksim, Şişli or Beşiktaş allow 40 to 70 minutes. To the Asian side (Kadıköy, Ataşehir) allow 70 to 100 minutes. Istanbul traffic is unpredictable, so treat the upper number as the realistic one on a weekday evening.
Where you meet the driver
Our driver waits inside the arrivals hall, past customs, holding a board with your name on it. You do not need to find a car park or call anyone. If you cannot see the board, phone the number we send you the night before and the driver will come to you.
What happens if the flight is delayed
We track the flight number you give us. If you land two hours late the driver arrives two hours late as well, and there is no extra charge for the delay itself. This is the single biggest advantage over booking a taxi in advance.
Waiting time
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the moment your plane touches down. That is normally enough for passport control and baggage. If you are held up longer, tell the driver and we will work it out.
What is included in the price
- Private vehicle, no sharing with strangers
- All motorway tolls and airport parking fees
- Meet and greet with a name board
- Luggage assistance
- Bottled water
- Full passenger insurance
Which vehicle do you need?
Up to three people with normal luggage fit comfortably in a sedan or Vito. Four to six people should take the Vito. Larger groups take the Sprinter. Remember that suitcases take space too: six passengers with six large suitcases means a Sprinter, not a Vito.
A note on price
We do not calculate the price automatically on this website, because the price depends on your exact address and the number of passengers. Fill in the form on the home page and we will send you a fixed price on WhatsApp, usually within a few minutes. The price we quote is the price you pay.
